Andrew
is owner of the Fountain Gallery. As well as being a painter
he has enjoyed a rich and exciting career as an architect
and landscape architect. Following his early work in the
fields of education and retail building design Andrew spent
many years abroad in the Middle East designing hospitals,
palaces and vocational training centres. This vast experience
has been brought to bear on the design, applying his skills
on the design of the Fountain Gallery. Together with a life
long love of art he now devotes all his time to watercolour
painting.
Andrew's painting is concerned with creating a a dynamic
balance between the factual elements of the subjects and
the free flowing and spontaneous rendering full of atmosphere
and light. He believes that watercolour does not have to
be 'wishy washy' but is an ideal medium for creating subtle
and unified compositions. He divides his time between painting
the Hampton Court area and the landscape of his home town
of Rye, East Sussex.
Andrew has exhibited extensively at the Fountain Gallery
and the Landmark Centre in Teddington. He now exhibits regularly
in Rye. His first one man show was in October 2002.
