John Walsom paints in oils and watercolour, both "en plein air", and in his Kingston studio. His paintings describe urban and rural landscapes, often featuring water and the craft that inhabit it. Drawing, tone, and colour are equally essential in his work.
He is a candidate member of the Wapping Group of Artists, and has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Chelsea Art Society, and The Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition. He has paintings in the collections of H.M.The Queen, Hampton Court Palace, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Harrods, Rolex Watch Co., and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
