Ann Marie Whaley moved to London from the USA in 1980. She studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London. She continued to study privately while working in the software business. Now retired from business, she works and exhibits regularly in London and Surrey.
Landscape is the usual focus of Ann Marie’s work. Inspired by the arrival of a recent storm while she was painting on the south coast of England, Ann Marie has been working on a series entitled ‘Waiting for Ophelia’.
Two of her paintings were chosen to be in the 2016 Discerning Eye Exhibition at the Mall Galleries; work has also been selected for the 2017 and 2018 Upfront Open Exhibition in Cumbria.
This year Ann Marie will be taking part in exhibitions in February at the Surrey Contemporary Art Fair, in June at the Lightbox in Woking, in July at the New Ashgate in Farnham. In September she will be exhibiting with Forbes Moores and Simon Taylor at the Fountain Gallery.
