Tessa Pearson is passionate about colour, and sees the world as a myriad of pattern and captivating images. ‘I marvel at patches of brilliant yellow in a dramatic patchwork green landscape, and the glimpse of a violet pot against a cobalt blue wall will haunt me. Gardens are living paintings and have been the constant inspiration I return to many times. Colour, textures, shapes intrigue and entrance.I work in series to explore and revisit a theme many times, both with watercolour and mixed media on paper, and oil on paper monoprints, richly textured with elements of collage, hand painting and woodblock printed imagery.’
Tessa studied Printed Textile design at UCA Farnham and the Royal College of Art, where she won the Courtaulds Prize and was commissioned by Libertys of London to produce a collection of printed silks. As Tessa Lambert she opened her own print studio and gallery in London and successfully sold her unique handpainted silks around the world.
In recent years Tessa’s professional practise has centred on her continuing passion for colour and pattern, using printmaking and mixed media on paper as her preferred medium. Her distinctive original work is becoming increasingly collectable, and is exhibited at Art Fairs and galleries across the UK and Internationally.
Tessa lives and works in rural Surrey, and is currently the Chairman of the Fountain Gallery.
