Sue
was born in Tonbridge Wells in 1942. She gained a National
Diploma in Design in 1963 after training at Canterbury College
of Art where she specialised in graphic design, where relief
printmaking was an integral part of the course.
Sue spent most of her life parenting and working as a free-lance
designer and illustrator but in 1989 the purchase of a Columbian
printing press renewed her interest in printmaking and the
fat ladies began to emerge.
Joining a life drawing workshop she went with them into landscape
painting and after discovering the stunning colours of Greece
she had a solo show of paintings in 2002 in the Richmond Riverside
Gallery. Working as a painter and printmaker over the years
there have been pieces in numerous exhibitions and shows.
As well as pursuing her own work Sue is currently employed
by Kingston Adult Education where she teaches experimental
drawing and painting.
