Suzy Suzy was born in Surrey and studied graphic design
at Goldsmiths’ College, London, in the late seventies.
She has had a career as a graphic designer working in point
of sale, advertising and publishing.
Suzy's
collection illustrated above is of large scale magnified
close-ups of flowers and leaves. The subject matter has
been transferred into powerful, sensual almost surreal-like
works, painted in acrylic and mixed media.
‘In this collection, I have been absorbed by blending
colour, creating curves and rhythms bringing the viewer
into the paintings.’ says Suzy.
Previous
collections have included a series of larger than life exotic
fruits, colourful, bold abstracts inspired by Gaudi’s
Park Guell in Barcelona and a collection of ‘glimpses’
based on the world famous gardens at Hampton Court Palace
Motivated
by constantly challenging herself with new ideas and techniques
in order to grow and develop as an artist, Suzy is now working
on a collection of contemporary atmospheric acrylic paintings
exploring an imaginary journey of life.
‘I
have recently moved in to a great studio space in Thames
Ditton (only a five minute drive from the Fountain Gallery)
and this has allowed me to embark on my exploratory work,’
explains Suzy.
