Tessa Pearson qualified in textile design at West Surrey College of Art and Design (BAHons 1st) and The Royal College of Art (MDesRCA). For many years she enjoyed success, creating hand painted fabrics sold through her own gallery, Designer 2, in West London and exclusive shops in Australia, Europe and the USA. Following a break to bring up her three children, Tessa moved to Molesey and continued to paint, showing her work in local galleries.

Passionate about colour and pattern, Tessa's work is a response to inspiring images and colours seen on travels in Europe and Africa. She recently returned to her first love of printmaking, delighting in the monoprint process with its element of chance and painterly mark-making qualities. She works in series, revisiting a theme many times, using multi-plate layering of colour, together with chine colle, collagraphs and etching to create modern, bold, abstract images.

Tessa exhibits regularly in galleries and art fairs around London and south east England. She is an active member of the Fountain Gallery Artists, the Richmond Printmakers, and Ochre Print Studios, in solo and group shows. Tessa enjoys teaching, running regular workshops in painting and printmaking, and is a popular Adult Education tutor.

In 2009 Tessa had work selected for the prestigious Open Print show at the Royal West of England Academy, and represented Ochre Print studios at the National Printmaking Festival in Stroud and the Spike Island exhibition for the International print conference IMPACT in Bristol.
