My work is abstract, derived originally from marks that occur in nature. I use strong colours, particularly red, because I see the natural world as full of energy. Movement is a major theme, but I also try to achieve balance and harmony. My paintings are in a traditional technique with oil paint applied smoothly and built up in layers.
