Diana McKinnon is a textile artist who produces a range
of work from pictorial representative pictures of country
landscapes and the waterways of Venice to the asymmetrical
designs inspired by the Art Nouveau Movement. She incorporates
layers of sheer fabric and stitching to achieve vibrant
mixes of colour, which are often embellished with wires,
metal, beads and shells.
Chris
Richards makes a variety of ornamental and decorative
pieces almost exclusively from wild woods grown near
his home in Surrey. The 1987 'hurricane' brought him
much of his timber stocks for furniture and woodturning,
and he enthuses about the wood's wonderful grain and
peculiarities which are sometimes only revealed when
carving and turning commences. He enjoys experimenting
with different colour finishes, and making furniture
which shows the beauty of solid timber to maximum effect.
