The Fountain Gallery 25th Silver Anniversary

The Gallery’s silver anniversary exhibition - including a selection of small works created by the Gallery’s Artists for this special show celebrating 25 years of the Fountain Gallery. The exhibition will include paintings, prints, mosaics and ceramics.

The Fountain Gallery celebrates 25 years with a very special group exhibition ‘25 in 2025’ including work from all the current members of this successful artists’ co-operative group.

The 18 artists who share in the running of the gallery will be exhibiting a selection of paintings, prints, ceramics,  textiles and jewellery - reflecting the continually changing displays which have been a magnet for the art-loving neighbourhood since the gallery opened in1999, when watercolourist and architect Andrew Blyth and his partner Liz Butt transformed this former antique shop.

A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, enhanced by the calming trickle of a courtyard fountain, has helped to make the gallery a regular stop for many in the local community. For other visitors its location, five minutes’ walk from Hampton Court rail station and from the palace, adds to the attraction, as do the antique shops, boutiques and restaurants lining Bridge Street.

Three years after establishing the gallery Andrew Blyth introduced the idea of an artists’ cooperative.

Although the way art is represented and viewed has gone through radical changes in the past twenty five years, The Fountain retains its focus on traditional contemporary visual art.

Members of The Fountain Gallery Artists Association have collectively produced more than 600 shows featuring art in many media on site and at other venues where members participate together.
