Jill Storey

Twickenham artist Jill Storey’s recent paintings have mainly been inspired by foreign travel – the light and colour of new and exciting destinations. Many of her sketchbook drawings, done on site, are later developed into larger paintings. She also has a continual fascination for the Thames, its riverside views, parks and buildings. She enjoys drawing, mixing media and experimenting with the fluid movement of watercolour contrasting with the rough textural marks of pastel.

Jill studied at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design (Dip AD Hons Fine Art) and Goldsmiths College, University of London (ATC).

She has taught and exhibited widely in the Richmond area, and had paintings accepted for Open exhibitions in London including: Royal Institute of Watercolours (Mall galleries); Royal Watercolour Society (Bankside Gallery); Singer Friedlander/Sunday Times Competition; Pastel Society - Prize winner 2007(Mall galleries). Commissions including: BBC, English Heritage, Kingston Grammar School, Teddington Clinic, Teddington Memorial Hospital, Museum of Rugby, Twickenham , Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.
