Excursions in Paint —Peter Lamb

Colourful paintings in oil and acrylic. Figurative and semiabstract landscapes, visited and imagined. Downlands, woodlands and places beyond.

Each visit to the easel with brush and palette is an excursion that travels beyond the here and now. It may be the visualisation of a landscape or a setting of objects, pleasing shapes and configurations that offer escape, exploration. Painting brings on an altered state where time and commonplace preoccupations dissolve. The finished work that comes from this deviation or digression then exists as a place where the viewer can share the artist’s experience.
