It may be the visualisation of a landscape or a setting of objects, pleasing shapes and configurations that offer escape, exploration. Painting brings on an altered state where time and commonplace preoccupations dissolve. The finished work that comes from this deviation or digression then exists as a place where the viewer can share the artist’s experience.
